My husband and I were sitting on the back steps of my father in law's house watching the river, which is only several feet away. I had my camera in hand and was playing around with taking pictures of a single pink wild rose.
Suddenly, some motion caught my eye and I quickly took these pictures. My camera was still new and taking pictures quickly was not (and still is not) my strong point. So, sadly, these pictures are not high quality - and more accurately are low quality and slightly fuzzy. But they do depict motion, a real life chase scene! So, at the eleventh hour, literally, I'm submitting the below picture to Gardening Gone Wild's photo contest this month. It's judged by Josh McCullough who, although I didn't know him personally, was a neighbor for many years in Kingston, Washington. We lived a mile up the road from where he worked at Heronswood Nursery.
